Korea’s Kim Si-woo secured a 1-under 71 in the third round of the $20-million BMW Championship on Saturday, placing him tied for seventh. This keeps his hopes alive for advancing to the FedExCup Playoffs Finale, the Tour Championship, next week.
The four-time PGA Tour winner recorded five birdies and four bogeys at Castle Pines Golf Club in Colorado, bringing his total to 6-under. He trails 54-hole leader Keegan Bradley, who shot a 70 to lead at 12-under. Bradley holds a one-shot advantage over Adam Scott (74), with Swedish players Ludvig Aberg (71) and Alex Noren (70) tied for third at 10-under.
Another Korean golfer, Im Sung-jae, shot a 73, placing him tied for ninth at 5-under, while An Byeong-hun posted a 71, sharing 18th place at 4-under.
Kim Si-woo recognizes the need to improve his driving accuracy after missing six fairways, leading to several dropped shots. He is currently projected to move from 44th to 33rd on the FedExCup points list. To secure a spot in the top 30 and advance to the Tour Championship at East Lake, he must perform well on Sunday.

Kim Si-woo knows he needs to improve his driving accuracy after missing six fairways, which contributed to his dropped shots. Currently projected to move from 44th to 33rd on the FedExCup points list, Kim is focused on securing a spot in the top 30 to advance to the Tour Championship at East Lake.
“It was a tough day. I started well on the front nine with a few good birdies, but the back nine was challenging. I missed a few fairways, and when you’re in the rough here, you get penalized. I fought hard and was disappointed to bogey the last,” said Kim.
He’s ready to give it his all on Sunday, also aiming to secure a place on the International Team for the Presidents Cup next month. Currently ranked 14th on the team list, Kim is hopeful that a strong finish will keep him in Captain Mike Weir’s plans for the six automatic picks, which will be confirmed after the Tour Championship.
“I’m still in a good position and have everything to play for tomorrow. My goal is to keep my season going and qualify for the Tour Championship. I just need to play the back nine better,” Kim added.
Im Sung-jae, ranked 10th on the FedExCup points list, is poised to qualify for his sixth consecutive Tour Championship appearance, while An Byeong-hun is projected to remain in 15th place, potentially making his first appearance in the Playoffs Finale.
